Mosser Glass Set of Two 9oz Mugs - Tuscan Pink
This set of twoĀ Mosser Glass 9ozĀ mugsĀ is made of thick, durable color flint glass. Made by hand by the expert glassmakers at Mosser who press the molten glass into the vintage molds and put each piece through a glazer, which melts away the top layer to reveal a smooth shiny finish. Very slight color variations are normal and actually makes individual pieces unique.Ā MugĀ dimensions:Ā MugĀ is 3.75" in diameter x 4" in height, 9oz capacity.Ā Hand wash with warm soapy water. Not microwave safe.Ā Mugs are finished by hand, so some variation in shape and size is to be expected.
The origins of Mosser Glass go back more than half a century when Orie Mosser was the plant manager of the Cambridge Glass Company in Cambridge, Ohio. His son Thomas began working there as a teenager, learning the trade from the ground up. When Cambridge Glass closed in 1954, he decided to continue in the glass business building a company of his own.Ā In 1959, he was finally able to begin manufacturing glassware. By 1971 he established Mosser Glass with a product line that blends new designs with timeless classics acquired from Viking, L.G. Wright and of course, Cambridge Glass.Ā They are nowĀ the last hand-pressed glass manufacturer in the United States.
